(CNN)The NASA Perseverance meanderer securely arrived on Mars after its 292.5 million-mile venture from Earth, the organization affirmed at 3:55 p.m. ET Thursday. The meanderer landed itself immaculately, as per the mission’s group.

“Percy,” as the shuttle is warmly called at mission control, sent back its first pictures of the arrival site following score, which shows the meanderer’s shadow on the outside of its arrival site of Jezero Crater.

The meanderer has been on an almost 300 million-mile venture since it left Earth over a half year back. Persistence and her groups satisfied the namesake, defeating the difficulties of planning for the excursion’s last stages during a pandemic.
